This year, SAROST celebrated its HSSE performances for the year 2010 on its « Thyna » supply base.
It was the occasion to recognize team performances in terms of HSSE – and in particular that of the Energy Logistics Division which finished the year with 1732 days without LTI – and it was also the opportunity to inaugurate the logistics base located in “Thyna” further to the major investment that it has undergone over the last months to make it a top notch supply base, in line with very high international HSSE standards.
The event also served to celebrate SAROST’s 29th anniversary. The ambiance was convivial and everyone seemed to have a good time.

SAROST sponsored the annual “Forum de l’Ecole de Polytechnique de Tunisie » on Wednesday April 19th, 2011.
The event organized by the students of Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie (EPT) was an occasion for students to take contact with different companies invited to present themselves at the Forum, and to have the chance to exchange thoughts and ideas about employment opportunities.
It was also an occasion for companies present at the forum to make contacts and identify potential recruitment candidates. SAROST was impressed with the quality of the students, and was delighted to have been part of this event.
March 28, 2011 SAROST inaugurates its new AHTSV, the “SAROST 5” Learn more
SAROST inaugurated the “SAROST 5” on Thursday March 27th, 2011 at the Port of la Goulette. The “SAROST 5” is SAROST’s most recent acquisition, a newly built Anchor Handling Tug & Supply Vessel.
The “SAROST 5” is 60m long and 16m wide, and is equipped with 2 engines with a total of 5220 Bhp, and a continuous bollard pull of 75 tons. She is also equipped with a dynamic positioning system DP1 and a fire fighting class 1 system.
Two representatives from the Tunisian Ministry of Transport, were present at the ceremony, as well as many managers from major E&P companies, bankers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders.
All guests had a chance to discover the new vessel for the first time, which had just arrived from a long trip from Malaysia, where it was built. To arrive to Tunisia, the “SAROST 5” took the long route around Cape Horn, which lasted over a month and a half, to avoid the risky passage in the Gulf of Aden.
With this acquisition, SAROST has increased the size of its fleet to five vessels; and an investment in yet another vessel before the end of the year is planned.

SAROST S.A. participated in the 5th Technology of Oil and Gas (TOG) Exhibition organized by the Libyan Petroleum Institute (LPI) and supported by the National Oil Corporation (NOC).
The event was held at the Tripoli International Fairground from October 12th to 14th 2010. This event, considered one of the largest in North Africa, allowed SAROST S.A. to showcase its services and know-how in the fields of maritime and offshore services.

SAROST participated in the 12th Exploration & Production Conference (EPC 2010) organized by ETAP (The Tunisian National Oil Company) under the topic «Focusing on exploration opportunities in Frontiers areas, for example the Northern Offshore Tunisia, as well as the promising gas potential for tight reservoirs and unconventional shale».
The conference took place in Tunis at the Ramada Plaza, Gammarth from October 11th to 16th.

SAROST holds a reception in recognition of its HSSE performance Learn more
SAROST held a reception tonight in the prestigious Hotel “Les Oliviers” in Sfax to celebrate its Divisions’ HSSE performance, and in particular the exceptional performance of the Energy Logistics Division which has exceeded 1500 days without Lost Time Injuries. Prizes were awarded in recognition of this great performance.
Martin Mentiply, VP Growth BG Tunisia and a team from BG Tunisia, as well as other clients such as Serept and Petrofac, and several service companies attended the event. We thank all of those who took some of their time to celebrate this important event with us.
Their presence illustrates their commitment and support to outstanding HSSE performance.
Recognizing HSSE performance is now part of our company tradition. In the future, this event will be held on the 28th of April of each year to coincide with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

SAROST participated in the 3rd edition of the Oil & Gas Libya fair from March 8th to 11th, 2010, which took place in the completely remodeled fairground of Tripoli.
The participation this year of NOC and major Oil & Gas operators, such as Repsol, OMV and Hess, helped to give more importance to the event; though the continuing visa issue with most European countries reduced expected attendance, even among participants.
One hundred and twenty local and international companies were present. The fair was organized by Dar Alarab in association with Montgomery Libya Ltd.

The 4th edition of the “North Africa Oil & Gas Summit” took place this year for the first time in North Africa - in Tunis.
It gathered most of all of the big players in the oil & gas sector with interests in the region.
The summit included talks on the most challenging exploration projects and how the difficulties were overcome as well as the latest updates on IOC strategies and NOCs’ new role in the current economic conditions.

The second edition of the Libyan maritime show, "LIMEX 2009", was flagged off Tuesday October 13th, 2009 at the International Fair of Tripoli. Seventy five local and international companies, specializing in industry, equipment, maintenance and maritime transport, were present.
The exhibition was organized by Jerma International for Exhibitions, Conferences and Advertising, under the supervision of The Libyan Ports and Maritime Transport Authority, with the sponsorship of the Libyan naval Forces. LIMEX gave us an opportunity to present our company and its services and make good contacts.

SAROST participated in the SIPS (Salon International du Pétrole et des Services) fair from April 10 – 12, 2009 which was held in the Centre d’exposition et de congrès El Medina in Hammamet.
The event regrouped many of the service companies that work in the oil & gas industry.
Most of the Exploration & Production companies, however, were absent from this event.

Reception in Sfax to celebrate SAROST’s 27th anniversary and present our new acquisition: the TIGER ROVLearn more
SAROST held a reception tonight on one of its bases in Sfax to celebrate 27 years of existence. This anniversary also served as an occasion to present SAROST’s latest investment, the RemotelyOperated Vehicle (ROV) TIGER acquired for inspection in deep waters (the ROV can work at depths of up to 1000 m). This ROV will allow SAROST’s Subsea Works’ Division to enlarge its fleet of ROV’s, which previously consisted of just the Superseeker.
The reception was also an occasion to recognize SAROST’s Subsea Works’ Division Manager for his achievements, and in particular his zero incident record. The reception was highly appreciated by those who attended: there were lots of drinks, snacks, and of course, a SAROST Cake!

SAROST participated in the Oil & Gas fair held in the Tripoli International Fairground in Tripoli, Libya from February 16-19, 2009 under the patronage of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC).
The event, with the presence of 204 exhibiting companies from 21 countries, attracted 4,156 registered visitors.

Today we celebrated a very important event: 1000 consecutive days without Lost Time Injury (LTI) on the SAROST- BG logistics base in Sfax.
Mr Ian Perks, General Manager of BG Tunisia, and Mr. Mohamed Toumi, Chairman and CEO of SAROST S.A., both attended the reception, and expressed their great satisfaction with respect to the performance of the team on the SAROST- BG base which contributed to this achievement.
Mr. Perks and Mr. Toumi then went on to distribute awards to the team.
